Short Getaway to Batam, Indonesia
Every trip that we had, is always a much needed break from work. I don't know how people could work without without taking leave. I strongly believe taking breaks are healthy for all working adults. For it to be staying at home or going out of town for a good meal. It keeps you sane and help putting life into perspective. It allows you to think that work is necessary but what's more than life has to offer besides career. On our breaks, we get to just chill and talk about things.
This is our first time visiting Batam, Indonesia. It is a very popular short getaway place for Singaporeans because it is so near! So popular that everything is expensive (in hotels), but it is still very cheap in the city.
We stayed at the Turi Beach Resort (http://www.agoda.com/en-sg/turi-beach-resort/hotel/batam-island-id.html), and I think it is a really good choice.
Selfie before departure, so happy that we are sitting here rather than in front of work desk!
Hotels have their own shuttle buses waiting at the ferry arrival. So you don't have to worry about travelling to the hotel.
Finally arrived at the hotel, with a great view!
This is simply an amazing view that I have been waiting!
Ah, the space! Much needed space!
The connector between the lobby and the rooms.
This is exactly the same as the photos we saw online. I am very impressed with their maintanence work, the hotel is really well maintained and it is really clean.
It's so calming to feel the wind, the sounds of waves and the greens.
We get to walk down the long wooden bridge to the deck at night, I was shaking and at the edge of crying because the water is pitch black and it was very windy. I have fear of open sea + dark sea water. Walking on top of both, what can I say, I am proud of myself.
Nice and peaceful night view.
Morning view of the beach. The sky is so blue and beautiful.
This is the walk of faith bridge.
Full belly after breakfast, the sunshine was so hot. It makes photo perfect but for real, it was painful.
God's creation is perfect. always.
Can you tell I am nervous?
And we saw sea-Iron Man playing in the sea. I won't do it in a million year. He was doing it in the open sea. O.P.E.N S.E.A
In this hotel, it has two pools, one is blue based, the other is emerald green based. We only stayed in the blue pool, because it looks cleaner.
This tree hammock brings back childhood fun, it made us so lazy and sleepy. The sea breeze and the coconut trees. This is what it called the holiday life!
We (I forced him to do) did a photoshoot in the beautiful sunset.
This was scary, the tide was rising and the waves were crazy high, I am once again proud of myself to walk all the way down! In my mind I was thinking, what if there's a crazy big shark or giant octopus come out of the water and catch me. I like to let my mind to go wild. and I am glad that none of those fantasies happen.
Dinner time by the seaside.
This is the end of our short trip. It was short but impactful. We will be back again for sure!
