Favourite: Date night

End of this year will mark our 6th year anniversary, half of it were spent long distanced. I’m forever grateful for the journey we have made. I’m grateful for our parents, our family, our friends and our God for their support and love.
6 years aren’t short nor too long but it definitely is a great learning journey as a couple. I’m sure these years will serve us well when we step into our marriage. 6 years are great but it isn’t great when it comes to fresh date night ideas. By this time we probably have used out our creative juice to surprise to think out of the box ideas. It is harder when it comes to buying birthday presents, anniversary presents and Christmas presents.

For me, as of now, my favorite date nights must have a purpose, like we are celebrating something. Celebration isn’t only for special seasons, for me it can be when we finally cool down from a week of hectic work schedules, especially for him. Then we will go eat something we both enjoy and that are within our budget, we especially enjoy Pepper Lunch, because it’s economical and delicious.
My favorite date nights are:

-Kopi ice talk. This might not sound like a date night, but for me it is. We always do this on weekdays after dinner where there will be less crowd and we can grab our favorite spot. There’s this mamak place near our place that open late. *(And I guess all Malaysians just love mamak.) We will walk there, buy drinks, sit down and talk and talk and talk till late. You might think why the need of going a mamak to talk, why not just do it at home. Trust me it is different. At here, we will put down our phones and focus on each other. We will talk about everything. It’s different when we can talk and look into each other’s eyes rather than side by side. The eye contact connects us and it gives you the assurance that we are on the same team and everything will be okay. It’s just simple and amazing.

-Next one, this normally happens on a Friday night. We will go to Chilis @ Clarke Quay to have a fancy dinner. This good food normally reserves for our anniversary or birthdays. Since Chilis changed their menu, we don't think it's as nice as it used to be. maybe it’s time for us to totally explore some other restaurants for good food.

We went to Morgan's Field on last week to celebrate Ney's new successful milestone at Star Vista. This place is lovely with a great view and good atmosphere.

-Another of my favorite date is exercise together! Unbelievable right? I can’t thank God enough for him to enjoy sports as well, cause I’m always the lazy butt who refuses to exercise and he will keep pushing me or annoy me to get into my running gear and start running. And he won’t stop until he is done. I love how determined he is, sometimes I just hate him (when I take my nap). Exercise makes you happy and when you do it with your favorite person in the world is much more better! Couple who run together stay together.

We went to Pulau Ubin yesterday to do something different for our holiday. It was tiring but totally worth it. I love being in nature, it's amazing. If you ever want to go there on a holiday, my advice is to go there early in the morning like 530am cause the queue, the crowd with the sun shining in a high degree of 33 celsius, is not joking. Better bring along your sunscreen, 100plus, cap, and towels too.

These are my top favorite dates right now. But I enjoy every other small dates we have as well. It’s a huge blessing that we are able to spend everyday together now, I’m really glad that the long distance period has ended. I can’t wait to explore more with him.
