Take a long walk
Weather: Gloomy (imagining myself in London), dripping at the end of the walk
Humidity: Unsure, pretty humid I guess
My mind: Overwork as usual
I took the walk home is because Pastor Phil suggested we should take a long walk to refresh ourselves. So in the midst of jobless, I think this isn't a bad idea at all, and I have been starring on the screen all day long for God knows how long. So this walk comes in time of need.
This book got me thinking about my literacy and how blessed I am literate. Ney's landlord and landlady are illiterate, they didn't get much education back then and because they wanted a better life, they moved from Malaysia to Singapore and started a family here, worked hard to support their two children. And because they cannot read and understand English, when official letter or documents came in, they would need someone who can to explain the content and sometimes filling the forms.
As a Malaysian, I am proud because we can understand at least 3 languages (if only you really learn them, not like once you born m'sian you can understand them). Though, we might not be an expert at all 3, at least we can read, write, listen and speak the simple ones of each.
Never take your education for granted, you might think is useless and boring to go to class, but once working you will never regret the English lessons in your secondary school when your teacher asked you to do a presentation in English in front of the whole class and there, your first ever presentation started.
That's all for today.
