Heart decides
Hello everyone, I am glad that Ney's mum asked to go to the special service on Sunday, Pastor Noah from Houston, Texas came to preach at our kampung church. An African came to our kampung to preach, how awesome is that?? Alright, left that aside.
The topic he shared was Change your mindset. Proverbs 23:7 for as he thinks in his heart, so is he. He shared a testimony of a healthy, handsome, fit and good man who has a perfect life as anybody think. He has a good career, nice girlfriend, and nice house and car. One day, his girlfriend suggested they go for HIV test as this is a pretty serious thing in Uganda, so they went. The guy was tested with HIV positive, but his always has healthy lifestyle and before the test he was in really good shape. However, when he found out the result, he immediately went into unbelief, "OMG, why?", "OMG, I am dying.", "OMG, I have HIV." , "OMG I am HIV positive"and all sort of negative thoughts and just after two weeks after receiving the result, he looks like he has already got HIV for the past 6 months, you can see all symptoms of a HIV patient on him. This example is to show us how our mind can decide the outcomes.
I think it is quite a good topic to be shared in this season of my life, this reminds me of my mindset on my current situation. I should be using God's words everyday to overcome my soon to be turned over situation. It's the mindset that decides that outcome right? I have to pick up this habit again.
Sometimes, old Christian like myself have this problem. I would carelessly take my salvation for granted. Not taking it in a serious and important manner. From time to time, we would lost ourselves in the big bad world and compromise with the rules and cultures of our generation. Like other young adults, we lost ourselves in chasing the current trend and wanting to blend in and taking other's comments seriously and sometimes matching our standards to please others. All these hurt our self-values and the worse we are full of ourselves.
Ahh, feel so good to be able to write again!
