Another tick-Ipoh random trip

Guess what, I just ticked another bucket list from my To-Do-List for 2014. Two days ago, went out to an extremely random road trip to Ipoh with my college mate, Yen Shiang who I haven't meet for 4 years since then. What makes it more random is that the initial group, we have 5 people, and the only person I knew was my college mate who invited me to this road trip, and the driver was Juliana, she is YS's friend from Adelaide, then we picked up Juliana's friend, Wallace at Butterworth, after that we went to USM Nibong Tebal to pick up YS and Juliana's friend, Ah sheng. Then we headed down South to Ipoh and meet up Sook Yan, another college mate for YS and me, but it didn't just end here, I asked my friend Nouv who I knew from Perth to join in the makan tour with us, both Sook Yan and Nouv did not know anyone besides me and YS.
So it's a complicated friendship here. But, this whole complicated thing makes me feel young and adventurous, this is totally out of my comfort zone.
Normally I wont go out to a random road trip with friends, I just find road trip is a scary activity as it might be really random and unpredictable, and in Perth when we say road trip, it mostly means 'we are going far far away from the city or civilization to enjoy the mother nature' and instantly, this situation appears in my mind as 'Sorry, you will have no internet connection which is super crucial for you and worse you won't be able to put on make up or dress up because you will be in the wild!. For me,no internet means no NEY! *by now, this one thought has already put my stomach in my mouth, no joking.* See, I'm a very attached girl friend. And no dress up for nice photos? NO WAY. See, I'm really 'hiao', sometimes.
However, went to Ipoh isn't a very scary thing for me because it's still a city area, and I will have internet and I can dress up! Besides all these minor reasons, the main reason I agreed to go on this trip was to spend time with YS, to meet Sook Yan and Nouv. One trip and I get to meet up and spend time with 3 friends, what a good deal! and get to know 3 extra friends, BAM, right choice, ey?

Being separated

Ney went to Hong Kong for business trip from today onwards for a week. I have forgotten how hard it is to be separated again. Short Getaway to Batam, Indonesia

Every trip that we had, is always a much needed break from work. I don't know how people could work without without taking leave. I strongly believe taking breaks are healthy for all working adults. For it to be staying at home or going out of town for a good meal. It keeps you sane and help putting life into perspective. It allows you to think that work is necessary but what's more than life has to offer besides career. On our breaks, we get to just chill and talk about things.  This is our first time visiting Batam, Indonesia. It is a very popular short getaway place for Singaporeans because it is so near!  So popular that everything is expensive (in hotels), but it is still very cheap in the city.  We stayed at the Turi Beach Resort ( http://www.agoda.com/en-sg/turi-beach-resort/hotel/batam-island-id.html ), and I think it is a really good choice.  Selfie before departure, so happy that we are sitting here rather than in front of work desk! ...

When it happens and after that

I've stepped into my 6th week of post-surgery, I'm feeling much better now. I look perfectly fine from the outside (as usual) with some help from cosmetics. Let's talk about the week when my operation was conducted. This experience is something I want to remember. It is the biggest surgery our family had to go through together. It wasn't an easy experience, so many decisions had to be made in a short period of time. My problem happens on the mitral valve, it wasn't closing as it should have because of the previous vegetation had loosen it and had left a hole unto the valve. This had caused the oxidized blood to leak back to the heart. If left untreated, I would have a heart failure.   So, my surgery was arranged on the 13th of November, 7 am. I was the first case for the surgeon, Dr Pau. I couldn't sleep well the night before, my thought was I will be sleeping the whole day the next day, what is sleep now.
