Group assignments have taught me a few things.
After I did so many team assignments, I guess I started to know what kind of person I am when I have to deal and work with different kind of people.
I have to say, I am surprise with some of the Aussie people I have worked with, they were not as hardworking and committed as I think they would; well of course some of them were really good and hardworking.
When I was in my first semester, I always looking forward to work with some locals in my team assignments, but after one really FAIL result, I started to step back and prefer to work with Asians, and when I say Asians I mean international students. I find overseas students are way more hardworking than those locals, I guess because we spent so much to come here to get our degree, we know we can't take it easy. I am not being mean or anything, these are just my points of view.
So, I guess I have 2 different personalities when come to group assignment. First one I will be a very very quiet and shy member when my team members are very 'smart' or 'cool' of course from my perspective. I would do my part very silently, I barely speak out in group meetings, but I will personally text the group leader if I need help or anything.
Second personality of me is I'm kinda a 'leader' type when I realize my group members are not as hardworking and 'responsible' as I think they should, because if no one started contacting each others, I would think they don't really care about the assignment, and I know I have to be a 'leader' and connect everyone, if not, seriously I can't sleep at night. That's so stressful to me.
I have to stay, I am Kia Su (scare to lose), sometimes, way Kia Su than Singaporeans, (ehhh, just joking). Kia Su isn't a bad thing, it makes you become very competitive and discipline, and I like that. I like being efficient and giving my very best to whatever I'm responsible for or just things that I am very passionate about.
At the end, I just want to say Thank You for every members I have worked with, I have learned few things from every group assignments. Without them providing me with all these experiences I would never know what are the strengths and weaknesses of me. also a big Thank You to Curtin for providing us with so much group assignments, they are really useful although some of them were really bad experience.
